About the Georgia World Congress Center
The Georgia World Congress Center (GWCC) features three spaces for major events and exhibitions. The GWCC is located in the heart of downtown Atlanta, with many fine hotels nearby. The center opened to the public in 1976 and is one of the top five convention spaces in the United States, with several million square feet of exhibition space available to conventions, meetings and special events.
The GWCC space (3.9 million square feet) is the premier exhibit space, along with the nearby 71,000 seat plus Georgia Dome, and the 21-acre Centennial Olympic Park. The Georgia Dome is home to the Georgia State University Panthers of the Sun Belt Conference and the Atlanta Falcons of the National Football League. Centennial Olympic Park, built to host the 1996 Summer Olympic Games, currently serves as an additional outdoor event space for the entire city to enjoy.
